In 1999, I was working for CRKlewin, we were working on an accelerated schedule project, we had a situation where the mason went out of business, so we asked Monarca to finish his work, they stepped up to the plate, and manned the project to fit our needs. Also I've dealt with Monarca on a $50,000,000 high rise apartment building, again they provided an impeccable service from submittals to laying the last brick on the job. When I joined AP Construction, I worked on a Police Department in Southington. I awarded the masonry contact to Monarca, knowing that I would be in good hands, and getting the same level of service. For the past few years I knew Monarca, they had shown nothing but high degree of professionalism, and commitment to their clients.

I am writing on behalf of Weslyan University to express our great appreciation for the work that Monarca Masonry performed on the University Center. The Usdan University Center building in one of the most transformational of Weslyan University's Master Plan projects and we feel fortunate that Monarca was a part of the team for this project. Monarca Masonry served as a mason for the project and completed the work without one single injury and within our schedule with extraordinary quality and craftsmanship on this demanding project.
The work on this project included concrete masonry unit back up and conventional cavity wall construction for a new 85,000 SF building. Complicating the conventional construction was the design of jack arches at windows and entries, some with the radius of over 40'. Monarca met this construction challenge and helped design design a strategy to precast these units for a more durable installation that met the project schedule demands. Additionally, the new building sat on a brownstone base and used brownstone sills and bands. Brownstone is known for a wide range of quality. Weslyan demanded that the brownstone be durable and long lasting while remaining contextual with surrounding buildings, Monarca tirelessly searched out a German source of supply that met the needs of the project.
Finally, the project consisted of historic renovations to Weslyan's 1892 Fayerweather Hall. Monarca reconstructed 50% of the building while they restored another 50%. Monarca attention to detail and their constant reference to the original made the restored areas a brilliant replication of the original, sure to last another 115 years. It is abundantly evident that Monarca's success is attributable directly with the quality of its masons and their attention to every detail.
